Low Speed Submersible Mixers WILO Maxiprop and WILO MegapropIn sewage treatment plants they are used for the suspension of solids and/or for the selective flow generation.In activating, anaerobic and denitrification basins low speed mixers prevent settling of activated sludge flakes, i.e. they stir them up and keep them in suspension.The backwards bent blades ensure a selfcleaning effect of the propeller even when there are long-fibrous solids in the liquid. The forces are distributed to three propeller blades when the WILO Megaprop is used, which results in the realization of a very high thrust and smoother running. This means that for special kinds of use the number of mixers can be decreased.
Maxiprop and Megaprop submersible mixers are installed and removed by means of a lowering device which is fixed at the bridge and at the floor. If the conditions are suitable also a tripod unit can be used. The advantage of this installation version is that no bridge is required. There is the choice between the following materials: galvanized steel or stainless steel.

The use of WILO-Uniprop submersible mixers with gearbox in industry, communities and agriculture makes great demands on their reliability and constancy of performance. It is possible to choose the optimal submersible mixer for every field of application through the modular assembly of different propellers, transmission steps and motors. Hydraulic optimal propellers made of stainless steel, steel, GFK (polyester resin reinforced by glass fibre) or PUR (polyurethane) enable a high efficiency and because of that vast savings of energy costs.Optimized adaption to requirementsIn order to improve their efficiency the Uniprop submersible mixers have been equipped with planetary gearboxes. They make an exact adaption to the individual service conditions possible.
WILO lowering devices are used for descending the WILO-Uniprop-submersible mixers from the tank edge into the tank without problems. Together with an auxiliary lifting device make WILO they enable individual positioning of the mixers. A ball pivot in the bottom bearing plate enables an installation to grounds inclined up to 30° and if the conditions are suitable, the application of a tripod unit is possible.There is the choice between the following materials: galvanized steel or stainless steel.

Recirculation pumps support the selective reduction in pre-treated sewage of the included ammonia nitrogen.A further application is the production of well controlled horizontal flows for water rides in amusement parks.ApplicationRecirculation pumps are suitable for pumping big volume flows at low flow velocities in a gentle and energy-saving manner.

In the first step the ammonia nitrogen is oxidized to nitrate (nitrification).In the second step, a partial reduction of the nitrate to molecular nitrogen follows (denitrification).

For the biological treatment of nitrogenous sewage it is necessary that the sewage runs several times through the biological treatment. Only in this way the purification values prescribed by law can be reached.In these continuous processes at big pumping capacities mostly only low heads have to be passed. This task is fulfilled by recirculation pumps. Amusement parksOne of the most popular attractions in any amusement or adventure park are the flume rides with their long slow rise and rapid descent. In a log flume the car is drawn mechanically up the ascent, and will then descend unaided under its own and its passengers weight. This necessitates the presence in the canal of a lubricating film of water. For the necessary lubrication of the descent water must be pumped in a separate canal to the top of the ride.This continuous water cycle is created by recirculation pumps. These pumps are specially designed for pumping big quantities of water to low heights.

EMU: Booster Plants


Booster Plants

WILO booster pumps are installed as booster for water supply and circulating systems. They provide enough water pressure for high buildings, elevates parts of cities and municipalities as well as in industrial applications.

Booster pumps can be installed vertically, up to a certain number of stages, also horizontally. In case of vertical installation the space requirement of the pumping installation is very low, in case of horizontal installation the complete pipework is laid at one level.

The operation
WILO booster pumps have flanges ends and can be readily connected in line with existing pipework or in a by-pass system.
They can be used for axial or lateral suction inlet on variable locations. WILO pumps are built according to the needs on site.

Using the incoming pressure the booster pump increases the pressure to what is required. instead of using a by-pass the WILO booster pump can also be equipped with an annular suction valve. This valve allows free water flow through the pump, when the pump is shut off.

Jet Aeration System For Cleaning of Storm Water Retaining Basins

Long lasting rain falls and thaw periods supply storm water retaining basins with large quantities of mud and solids. The WILO jet aerotion system avoids that solids settle on the walls and at on the bootom of the basin and thus consequently cleans the stormwater retaining basin or the channels in the collector chamber.
By means of an air aspiration pipe and a specially designed system of nozzles and underpressure is poduced in the jet pipe. Consequence: The air drawn in is mixed with the water. The produced air-water mixtureis then put into the basin with high speed in horizontal direction. the cleaning process is started.

New Motor range 10" type NU 911 with internal active cooling and a power range (50Hz) of 75-225 kW.

A permanently driven impeller on the motor shaft leads the cooling liquid directly through the bearing and the winding. So the lost heat can be optimally absorbed and dissipated to the circulating pump liquid via the external shroud. Due to the innovative technology a considerably higher energy density can be achieved with reduced operating temperatures at the same time. in addition to that the small installation diameter leads to a reduction of the investment and construction costs of wells and water pumping stations.

EMU: Removal Device


During static thickening of treated sludge sludge water will occur, which will have to be transported to the intake of the sewage treatment plant. A special sucking device will do this job. In this construction a submersible sewage pump is installed in the basin upside down by means of a lowering device in such a way that the sludge water can be sucked off during operation. As the water in the basin surrounds the motor of the pump it is always properly cooled. The position of the pump is adapted to the water level in the basin by means of the lowering device. An alternative to the installation with lowering device is to fix the pump with a pontoon on the water surface. This means that the pump automatically adapts to changing water levels and is always ready for operation. This system is also used in SBR-installations for removing clear water. After the sedimen-tation phase the clear water can be pumped off by using the system with pontoon. The removal of floating sludge on final clarification basins is a task that constantly occurs. By installing the lowering device at the scraper bridge the floating sludge can be sucked off and transported to the sludge treatment.

Sump Selection

Retrofit pumping stations Everyone knows them, old rotten pumping stations which must be renovated. but only few know the possibilility of a reconstruction with PEHD-sumps. The Process could be as follows: on site EMUPORT takes the exact measurement of the existing station incl. all intakes and discharge pipes. According to these data and the requirements of the customer a completely new pumping station is planned and built including all equipments. After the dismantling of the old station a new floor is built of sand and concrete and the already available EMUPORT pumping station is installed. The next step is to reestablish the connections so that the new pumping station can be put into operation mostly on the same day, before the necessary backfilling and surface machining. With this method it is not necessary to pump and store the sewage elsewhere or at least this process can be reduced to a minimum.
